Upload Audio Files

Learn how to upload and transcribe your audio files with LansonAI.

Supported File Formats

LansonAI supports a wide range of audio formats:

  • WAV - Lossless audio format
  • MP3 - Most common compressed format
  • M4A - AAC audio format (commonly used by iOS devices)
  • FLAC - Free Lossless Audio Codec
  • OGG - Open-source audio format
  • WEBM - Web-optimized format

    • File Size Limits

  • Maximum file size: 500 MB per file
  • Recommended size: Under 200 MB for faster processing
  • Large files: May take longer to upload and process

    • How to Upload

    Method 1: Drag and Drop

    1. Navigate to your dashboard 2. Look for the upload area 3. Drag your audio file from your computer 4. Drop it in the designated area 5. Wait for the upload to complete

    Method 2: File Browser

    1. Click the "Upload" or "Choose File" button 2. Browse your computer for the audio file 3. Select the file you want to transcribe 4. Click "Open" to start uploading

    Upload Tips

    Optimize Your Files

  • Convert to MP3: If you have a WAV file, converting to MP3 can reduce file size
  • Use appropriate bitrate: 128-192 kbps is usually sufficient for speech
  • Trim silence: Remove long silent sections before uploading

    • Best Practices

  • Good audio quality: Clear recordings produce better transcriptions
  • Minimize background noise: Reduces transcription errors
  • Single speaker per file: Better results for focused content
  • Check file integrity: Ensure the file isn't corrupted

    • Upload Process

    1. File Validation - System checks file format and size - Confirms the file is valid and supported

    2. Upload Progress - Progress bar shows upload status - Don't close the browser window during upload

    3. Processing Queue - File enters the transcription queue - You'll receive a notification when processing starts

    4. Transcription - AI processes your audio file - Time varies based on file length and quality

    Troubleshooting

    Upload Failed?

  • Check file size: Ensure it's under 500 MB
  • Verify format: Make sure it's a supported audio format
  • Internet connection: Stable connection required
  • Try again: Refresh the page and retry

    • Slow Upload?

  • Check internet speed: Upload speed affects transfer time
  • Compress the file: Reduce file size if possible
  • Try at different times: Network congestion varies

    • File Not Processing?

  • Wait a few minutes: Processing queue may be busy
  • Check your credits: Ensure you have sufficient credits
  • Contact support: If issue persists after 10 minutes

    • What Happens Next?

    After successful upload: 1. File enters the transcription queue 2. AI begins processing the audio 3. You can view progress in your dashboard 4. Notification sent when transcription is complete 5. Access the results in the [Episode Editor](/docs/guides/features/episode-editor.md)
