Edit & Export

Once you have your transcription results, you can edit them for accuracy and export in various formats for different use cases.

Using the Episode Editor

The Episode Editor is your workspace for refining transcriptions.

Opening the Editor

1. From Dashboard - Click on any completed transcription - Opens directly in the editor

2. From Notifications - Click notification link - Redirects to editor view

Editor Interface

The editor provides:

  • Text editor panel: Edit transcription content
  • Audio player: Synchronized playback
  • Timeline view: Visual representation of segments
  • Timestamp controls: Adjust segment timing

    • Editing Your Transcription

    Text Editing

    Basic Editing:

  • Click anywhere in the text to start editing
  • Use keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/Cmd + Z for undo)
  • Changes are auto-saved as you type

    • Common Corrections:

  • Fix spelling errors
  • Add proper punctuation
  • Correct capitalization
  • Fix speaker names

    • Advanced Editing:

  • Split segments for better organization
  • Merge segments if needed
  • Add paragraph breaks
  • Insert annotations or notes

    Adjusting Timing: 1. Select a segment 2. Use timestamp controls 3. Fine-tune start/end times 4. Play to verify accuracy

    • Speaker Labels

    Edit Speaker Names: 1. Click on speaker label (e.g., "Speaker 1") 2. Enter the actual name 3. All instances update automatically

    Manage Speakers:

  • Add new speakers if missed
  • Merge speakers if duplicated
  • Reassign segments to correct speakers

    LansonAI supports multiple export formats for different purposes:

    Text Formats

    #### Plain Text (.txt)

  • Use case: Simple text documents, notes
  • Content: Pure text without formatting
  • Best for: Quick copy-paste, basic documentation

    • #### Rich Text (.rtf)

  • Use case: Word processors with formatting
  • Content: Text with basic formatting
  • Best for: Reports, formatted documents

    • #### Markdown (.md)

  • Use case: Documentation, web content
  • Content: Text with markdown syntax
  • Best for: GitHub, documentation platforms

  • Content: Text with timestamps

  • Content: Text with enhanced metadata
  • Best for: HTML5 video, modern browsers
  • Features: Styling, positioning options

  • Use case: YouTube videos specifically
  • Content: Simple timestamp format
  • Best for: Direct YouTube upload

    #### JSON

  • Use case: Software integration
  • Content: Structured data with metadata
  • Best for: APIs, custom applications
  • Includes: Timestamps, speakers, confidence scores

    • #### CSV

  • Use case: Spreadsheet analysis
  • Content: Tabular data format
  • Best for: Excel, data processing

    • How to Export

    Step-by-Step Export

    1. Click Export Button - Located in the editor toolbar - Opens export options dialog

    2. Choose Format - Select from available formats - Preview option if available

    3. Configure Settings - Include/exclude timestamps - Include/exclude speaker labels - Set encoding options

    4. Download File - Click "Download" or "Export" - File saves to your downloads folder

    Batch Export

    Export multiple transcriptions at once:

    1. Select Files - From dashboard, check multiple files - Or use "Select All" option

    2. Choose Export Action - Click batch export button - Select format for all files

    3. Download Archive - Files packaged in ZIP format - Organized by original file names

    Export Best Practices

    For Video Subtitles

    1. Choose SRT or VTT format 2. Verify timestamps are accurate 3. Test in your video editor 4. Adjust line breaks for readability

    For Documentation

    1. Use Markdown or Plain Text 2. Remove unnecessary timestamps 3. Clean up speaker labels 4. Format for readability

    For Transcripts

    1. Include timestamps for reference 2. Keep speaker labels 3. Maintain paragraph structure 4. Export as TXT or RTF
